BYRON: How Sarah from Salty Luxe Spends A Week in Byron

TAHITI, BORA BORA, TULUM, TURKEY, GREECE, PORTUGAL, MOROCCO, PERU, THE MALDIVES.

Just some of the exotic places Sarah, aka Salty Luxe, has spent time visiting and photographing in the past few years, usually with her long-term partner Chesh at her side. Home is Byron Bay but she’s a travel addict, a sunshine-filled creative, who wants to unlock the wanderlust in all of us with her luxury, tropical-vibe travel blog. Her imagery balances beautifully her authentic earthiness and an unashamedly strong taste of the kind of luxury it’s hard not to imagine ourselves surrounded by.  It was this combo that inspired the name Salty Luxe - her love of walking a line of salty, barefoot travels as well as enjoying a little bit of luxe too. Yeah we could live with that!

She threw in a long-term role in corporate work to follow her heart in creating this dream lifestyle, and she’s the first to admit it’s a dream that takes constant working at.  “It takes dedication, genuine love for what you do and perseverance - lots of it,” she says.

This super talented, self-taught photographer, videographer, youtuber doesn’t mind a bit of home time too to catch up on her editing, developing new filters, new stories and planning new adventures.

And this is what a week in Byron looks like Salty-Luxe style.  It starts with the hand-written post-it note list Sarah crafted to share with us and it sure gets our tick of approval!

What you always buy from the Farmers Market: bananas, honey & a croissant from Scratch Patisserie!

Fav beach for a sunset swim and which wine/nibbles you’d take: The Pass! And I’d be taking a bottle of this fab organic Temple Bruer Pinot Noir or just a good buttery chardonnay! Or maybe an Ink gin & tonic. And to eat, a grazing plate of the fresh morsels form the local market.

Best time to surf The Pass: definitely sunset or early morning.

Fav beach to swim in Byron: I actually really love Tallows.  It’s the beach just behind our place and pretty special.

What you always take on the lighthouse walk: sunglasses and my phone for quick snaps.

Your favourite things to order from some of the places on your list: nourishing bowl from Folk, peanut butter smoothie bowl from The Pressed Pantry, affagato (with coconut ice-cream) from Kombi, acai bowl from Topshop, and pretty much any pizza from Treehouse - as long as it comes with a chill margarita!

What is something only  a Byron local would know: the exact location of Whites Beach (there are sooo many tracks ~ it's the second carpark*), Little Wategos is reached via the lighthouse trail (when walking from the water take the first path on the left after the 2 flights of stairs)... and I better keep SOME local secrets, so THE END hehe!
