WHO’S STAYED HERE: Tara Milk Tea

There’s the Beekman and 1 hotels in new york city, Keemala, Four Seasons tented camp in thailand, La Maison in Marrakech, Cavo Tagoo in Mykonos and then there’s The Bower Barn, Byron Bay. They’ve all been called home for a few nights or longer by photographer/blogger Tara Whiteman, who documents her travels to some of the world’s most idyllic destinations in stunning postcard-like snaps to share with her million plus followers on @taramilktea.

Tara’s living her dream. She’s turned her passion for photography, fashion, food, places and people into a lucrative career and did it while completing her honours degree in design. It’s a career that’s grown organically since first unearthing a love of photography when she was in her teens and a passion for travel while exploring her mother’s Asian heritage with her family. It was a similar journey for Taliah Lowry, the creative force behind Byron Beach Abodes and The Bower Byron Bay, whose passion for design, travel and beautiful buildings started young and has been overlaid with an appreciation of what colour, nature, culture and the richness a global experience can deliver to everyday life. For Taliah it turned into realising projects like The Bower, luxury holiday accommodation being lauded across the globe in publications such as Vogue, Vogue Living, Inside Out, Conde Nast Traveller and more…

For Tara, the journey never stops – literally. She’s already unpacked her suitcase in more than 30 countries and relies on the app BEEN to keep track of her travels, so diverse are they. She has a particular passion for mystical Japan and NYC which has burned its electric and intoxicating 24-hour lifestyle into her psyche. But, much to our delight, she sees Byron Bay as home away from home.
