WHO’S STAYED HERE: Tara Milk Tea

“That’s what Byron Bay feels like. Home. I can truly picture myself living in Byron Bay one day. Everyone is so kind and relaxed, and nothing ever seems to be a problem, or a bother to the locals. It’s truly a great place to escape for a few days and just unwind,” she says.
 
She is of course passionate about the online world and her community, but detoxing from online is a necessity too from time to time. It’s why she and her partner Damian, with a background in architecture and a keen eye behind the lens too, have days where they venture out without a camera or phone and just embed themselves in the moment. And places like The Bower and Byron truly allow them to immerse themselves in all that mother nature has to offer, from its pristine beaches to glorious coastal walks, quirky eclectic villages hidden in the lush Byron Hinterland, or the glorious abundance of fresh foods on display at the local markets.
 
Back in the ‘work’ world, Tara continues to build her following on Instagram with the most superbly composed travel-lust images, is a member of Qantas’ exclusive Q Collective and can be found working with a diversity of clients from Canon to Tiffany & Co. And her big, audacious future goal? “To live life to the fullest, create my own happiness, chase what I love doing and inspire others to do the same.”

“We drove up to Byron from Sydney for a week away from the city and first up stayed at The Bower, Byron Bay where staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful during our time here. The property is located so close to everything. Like all things in Byron, nothing is ever too far away. Right next door you’ll find the The Byron Bay General Store, the most perfect spot for breakfast, and five minutes drive away is the town and main beach.
 
The Bower Barn is a private oasis, housed under a pitched roof with reclaimed wooden beams and restored cottage windows. The Barn doors slide open at each end for extended private living space, should you want to spend some time sitting outside to soak up the sun. The kitchenette is also super handy and provides everything you need if you want to stay inside to eat – which we did! The bathroom is an amazing highlight with its full glass ceiling and egg-shaped bath. I spent so much time in there, just relaxing and looking up at the sky full of stars. I was just obsessed with our stay and hope you might be able to experience it yourselves one day.”
