STYLE EDIT: The Swimwear We’re Loving This Summer

you loved the swimwear edit we curated for you last year and know you’ll love this one too.

We’ve kept selections from some of our favourite brands such as independent Aussie label Zulu and Zephyr and Zimmerman (of course). Then we’ve added classics such as Country Road and brands that have bewitched us with their designs throughout the year such as Saint Somebody, The Fold, Monday Swimwear from super-influencers Tash and Devon Brugman, and PE Nation for the sporty girls amongst us.

We’re celebrating the fact that at last curvier girls have lots of options in swimwear that celebrate a wide variety of body shapes. Every body is a beach body!. Saint Somebody (sizes 12 – 20) is about ‘gifting curvy sisters with killer suits that are superb quality, flattering, comfortable and made for your shape’, while The Fold has made it their mission to redefine D Cup+ swimwear. It’s been a 3-year labour of love to craft the perfect swimwear for girls with smaller backs and large busts and the results are simply stunning.

Sustainable fabrics are always a feature of Australian designers Peony, as is their passion for vintage vibes and bohemian nostalgia interpreted perfectly in their exclusive prints designed in house and worn beautifully by some of our fav Byron locals, Emily Yates and Lisa Danielle. Country Road has kicked another goal for sustainability and style combined, with their latest swimwear collection crafted from discarded fishing nets and factory off-cuts that might otherwise pollute the ocean.

You’ll find lots of beautiful textures, tortoiseshell trims, soft belts, flattering cutouts, feature backs, high-waisted bottoms as well as tiny bikinis.

There are rich creams and brightest whites, mocha, russet and black and lots of tiny, feminine prints. There’s beachwear too with linen shirts, tie tops, flowy palazzo pants and beach dresses.

Summer for us means a daily choice between the long stretches of iconic Byron Bay beaches or being seduced by the cool, clear waters of The Bower’s perfectly round mineral swimming pool. It’s a choice between packing a picnic and setting up for the day ocean-side or embedding ourselves in the tropical oasis surrounding The Bower pool, the Garden Bar just there, a platter of the finest local produce and the soundtrack to balmy Byron days and nights on repeat.
