EVENTS: Style Me Romy 10 Year Celebration at The Bower

Luxury Byron Bay holiday creative, Taliah Lowry, and Romy Frydman, stylist to the stars, fashion insider and the face behind the celebrated brand and blog stylemeromy, share a passion for interiors and fashion, and most particularly for luxury aussie fashion brand Zimmermann.

 
It’s what brought them together and cemented a friendship which now sees Romy as a regular guest at The Bower. It’s what made it so easy to combine a celebration of the launch of The Bower’s spectacularly elegant, new Zen-like round swimming pool and the 10 Year Anniversary of StyleMeRomy.
 
And so it was that Romy put the call out to 40 of StyleMeRomy’s favourite friends from the fashion industry, including international and local celebs, models and influencers to come to our luxury boutique hotel for the party of the year.
 
The guest list included Yan Yan Chan, Nathan Jolliffe, Pip Edwards, Louise Van De Vorst, Montana Cox, Fishbowl entrepreneurs Nic Pestalozzi and Nathan Dalah and of course, Simone Zimmerman. The Zimmerman Bikini Bar was an instant girl-magnet of course and the boys weren’t forgotten either with a selection on hand from Zimmerman’s boardshort range which they released mid-year to coincide with the opening of their new store in St-Tropez. What’s good for St-Tropez is good for Byron!
 
So the scene was set: beautiful people, intimate, luxury location, blue Byron skies, delicious food and bare-foot dancing around the glistening waters of this ever-so beautiful pool oasis to the sounds of DJs Tom Derickz and Jimmy2Sox of Flight Facilities fame. It was laid-back, sophisticated but still delightfully Bohemian Byron at it’s very best.
 
Taliah was thrilled to hear that of all the beautiful places around the world many of the guests had stayed, they thought The Bower felt most like a home and not just a luxury hotel. They loved the attention to detail in every room and the warmth of the staff that made it such a unique experience and one they looked forward to returning for. “It was really lovely to hear this from such well-travelled people and I was humbled by the very authentic way they spoke about The Bower and our pool, which of course we’re so very proud of,” Taliah said. “It was such a lovely collaboration and the highlight for me was meeting so many incredibly inspiring people.”
 
And Romy’s recipe for pulling off this amazing joint celebration of The Bower’s luxury pool oasis and her 10 Year Anniversary of StyleMeRomy? Let’s hear from the girl herself:
 
How did you want the weekend to feel?
 
RF: Perfect of course!
 
And the guest list?
 
RF: They were all my friends and collaborators who’ve contributed to SMR and my sanity over the years in one way or another.
 
Which brands jumped on board?
 
RF: Mercedes Benz chauffeured everyone around Byron over the weekend in their usual inimitable style. There was an amazing Zimmermann Bikini Bar where you could choose any bikini from their latest ranges and for the men, a selection of Zimmerman’s newly released boardshorts for a dip in that gorgeous pool, or for a poolside cocktail or two. There was Dior’s Joy fragrance in our gift bags and we had hats by Sarah Curtis, woven beach bags from LMND, candles in the rooms by my gorgeous friend at Maison Balzac and everyone wore our novelty SMR heart shaped sunnies.
 
Food and bevies?
 
RF: Harvest provided the scrumptious food and Kombucha the vodka. Need I say more! Perfectly Byron and perfectly delicious.
 
What were the Ta-Dah! moments?
 
RF: A weekend away with 40 of my closest friends was always going to be THE Ta-Dah moment and it seems it was the same for them. I’ve never had so many ‘I had the best weekend ever’ texts. The setting at The Bower was perfect, the weather incredible and the mix of people utter perfection.
 
And to wrap it up?
 
RF: We decided to celebrate this milestone of 10yrs in true SMR style at the launch of The Bower pool in Byron Bay and it was mad fun! I am grateful to them and for the ongoing love and support of my family, team and amazing clients, Zimmermann, Dior Fragrance & Mercedes Benz.
