Located in the regional town of Tumbulgum, this single-estate distillery boasts views across the Valley to Wollumbin Mt Warning and houses a Cellar Door, Cocktail Bar and Planters Café. Book a tour to learn about the distilling process and discover the magic behind Ink Gin’s colour transformation from blue to pink. Tours include a G&T on arrival with an exclusive behind-the-scenes walk through and rum tasting in the barrel house. For those who prefer to move at their own pace, grab a cocktail or a tasting paddle from the bar and head out to the sprawling lawn for a leisurely picnic in the sun. Heaven!

Perched in a sub-tropical rainforest in the hinterland of Byron Bay sits Cape Byron Distillery, home of Brookie’s Gin. This highly awarded distillery provides guided tours of both the rainforest and distillery with gin tastings and cocktails served at the bar and balcony which overlooks the property.
Recently awarded as the 2020 ‘Sustainable Distillery of the Year,’ you’ll hear all about the Brook Family’s passionate regeneration efforts which have seen the property turn from red dusty landscape into a lush green oasis. Many of the native botanicals used in their gin are quite literally picked from their backyard – this is craft distilling at its finest.
The gin itself has a deliciously unique flavour profile reflective of the rainforest surrounds, and the rotating roster of cocktails never disappoint.

With craft beer progressing from a Broadsheet buzzword to full-blown movement, a visit to Stone & Wood Brewery is essential stop for both beer nerds and beer noobs alike.
A short drive from The Bower, in Byron’s Arts & Industrial estate, our only advice is to come thirsty! They have a number of pilot batches rotating weekly, along with their five tried and tested main stay brews. Soak it all up with bar snacks and classics served from the onsite Canteen.
You’ll find it easy to lose an afternoon here as the venue itself is stunning. Bathed in an abundance of natural light with exposed beams, blonde timber and clusters of native greenery, while its main purpose is an operational brewery and office space for the Stone & Wood team the venue has been purposefully designed with customers in mind.
