STYLE EDIT: 2020 swimwear trends with Alexandra Sage

Alexandra Sage - 2020 swimwear trends

Free spirit, sun lover and avid bikini collector, Alexandra Sage knows a thing or two about the art of swimwear shopping. From the itty-bitty to terry-towelling textures and modest cuts with unique twists.

With the warmer weather trickling in we turned to her for advice on where to shop and why!

Being an independent, family-run Australian business, located in Byron Bay is goals! Supporting local business as much as possible has always been important to me, and even more so in these times. Each and every piece from Peony's collection is made from recycled and sustainable fabrics which is a big, big plus for me. Not to mention their styles are absolutely gorgeous. I'm currently living in my cream two-piece

I first visited Wanderlust in Bali a few years ago and immediately fell in love with their basics & huge selection. If you were struggling to find something you will always come across the right colour, fit and style with Wanderlust. Their pieces are incredibly supportive so they are my go-to, especially when having some fun in the sun and surfing.

I adore Zulu & Zephyr. I've worked with Zulu & Zephyr the longest out of almost every brand to date, and we've created beautiful images together.  Every new season drop they release has timeless pieces that you can wear year on year and the swim fabrics are always beyond amazing!

I really resonate with the Halcyon Daze way of life "created for women who seek their inner nomadic spirit and follow their own path" - that's definitely something I can relate to! Their designs capture the rustic, salty beauty of Byron Bay. I'm currently in love with the beautiful detailing on my white Saint-Tropez string bikini!

The OG crinkle! It was love at first sight when I first able to get my hands on my first piece of Hunza G. I really love their signature crinkle stretch fabric and high cut leggy designs. Everything is 'One Size' so you don't have to fit into the swimsuit, the swimsuit stretches to fit you. Dreamy! If you're looking to purchase in town, Hope & May stock this brand.

When asked if I favour silver or gold, the answer is always 100% the latter. But be warned - when it comes to gold, quality is king. Swimming and jewellery (be it gold or silver) do not mix, so be sure to look for quality recycled or if you can afford it pure gold pieces. Trust me, it's usually worth the investment. I have so much fun stacking and layering. Recently I have been working with Hunter X Hunter, I'm obsessed with their chunky gold rings and chains.

For my go-to beach accessories, The Beach People of course! From Towels to carts to picnic baskets they do it all! A serious favorite is the stunning Salty Shadows, with beautiful designs that stand apart from the crowd. Another noteworthy beach accessory is a nice cane basket. I purchased mine from Hope & May in Byron (they offer up an array of gorgeous staples when it comes to beach chic goodies). I get an absolute ton of questions about it when I post on Instagram. I also purchased my sandals from Hope & May, they are by Maria Farro.
