Just like her IG account echoes her passion for crisp, creative and simply beautiful photography, so do the images she snapped while lapping up all that’s great about Byron Bay in delivering the perfect family holiday. “If you’re looking to book a family holiday soon, this is just the most divine accommodation in Byron! We’re already planning another trip back” says Sarah. Here are her thoughts and some of those evocative pics which capture perfectly her family’s stay at The Bower:
What did you love about your stay?
From the moment we drove into The Bower, this holiday oasis blew me away. Every corner has been thoughtfully considered and I found myself inspired and uplifted every moment we were there.
What did you love about Bower Cottage itself?
We stayed in Bower Cottage which has such a relaxed holiday vibe – modern, homely and inviting and so pristine! It’s light and bright and I just adore the style of decor. It has a perfect touch of boho holiday atmosphere and we felt instantly comfortable and at home, but of course with the added joy of all the luxuries of a boutique hotel. We loved having oodles of space and that there’s a full kitchen for cooking meals and snacks for our boys which is so important for us. And other highlights? The double shower to use after trips to the pool, separate rooms for the boys, the large TV in the lounge area for watching movies, the outdoor area for meals and private soaking in the sun. And I particularly revelled in our ensuite bathroom where I'd style my hair and do my makeup each morning to the sounds of birds right outside the window, and a view of the trees swaying in the breeze.
Why is The Bower a great location for a family holiday?
It’s absolutely beautiful to look at, but so functional for a family with young children too. The boys mostly wanted to spend time at The Bower pool, so we spent at least an hour there each day. They also had a ball riding the sweet little Bamwood balance bikes and we still talk about the bush turkeys which wandered around the outdoor area of The Cottage. It’s very close to the town centre so no long car rides and very close to the beaches too.
One of my favourite parts of our stay was waking up early each morning and heading to The General Store for coffees to take back to The Cottage. Usually Caspian would wake me up and we'd walk together to get macadamia milk cappuccinos and babyccinos for everyone. Then we'd all walk back there later to have brunch as a family too.
What did you do in your time in Byron?
We loved visiting The Farm. The boys had so much fun in the playground and going around meeting the animals and the food there was so delicious and fresh. And of course we visited the Lighthouse at sunset. That’s a must!
"So this happened on our last day in Byron 👆🏼👆🏼The beautiful staff at @the_bower_byron_bay let us sneak into The Barn’s glass roof bathroom for the most beautiful bubble bath I’ve ever taken! It’s even more glorious in real life too if that’s possible?! All the sunbeams streaming in and dancing on the bubbles were magical."
